Job summary

Span Alaska Transportation is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support loading, unloading, staging, and securing freight while maintaining safety and accuracy in a busy warehouse environment.

You will work with internal teams and customers, perform basic inspections, and ensure documentation aligns with work orders. A high school diploma is required; forklift certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Forklift certification and/or Hazardous Materials certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight safely from various types of vehicles.
• Move freight, materials, and inventory within the warehouse, yard, and staging areas.
• Tag, label, and mark freight with appropriate identifying information.
• Verify freight against work orders and shipping documentation.
• Record quantities and units handled or moved.
• Load and properly secure flatbed freight.
• Ensure loads comply with water restriction and transportation requirements.
• Assist customers by phone and in person in a courteous, professional manner.
• Communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors regarding work assignments.
• Support other departments and team members as needed.
