Job summary

Staples is hiring a Warehouse Associate (Receiving) for a full-time day shift in Killingly, CT. The role supports receiving, counting, and palletizing goods, uses RF terminals, and loads pallets into outbound trailers to serve our stores.

You will operate material handling equipment, meet safety standards, and work Monday-Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Training provided. Staples offers a safety-focused environment with overtime opportunities and a benefits plan.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) months related warehouse experience or equivalent training.
• Ability to lift, lower, push, pull or carry product up to 100 pounds and reach heights up to 8-9 feet (up to 30 feet at times).
• Must be able to work Monday-Friday 7:00 am-3:30 pm.
• Basic English reading/writing, basic math and data entry.
• Pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Unload trailers and railcars, break down pallets, and palletize items by SKU number.
• Count items received and use RF terminal to match quantity to PO and apply license plate.
• Identify and resolve overages, shortages, damage and vendor issues.
• Stack empty pallets in return bays up to eight pallets high.
• Operate equipment like forklift, pallet jack and clamp truck.
• Be flexible to perform other duties as assigned.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain safe work practices in a warm environment.
• Assist in other departments as needed.

Warehouse Associate (Receiving) - Full-Time

Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

$20.00/hour

As a Warehouse Shipping Associate, you will help the distribution center meet its goals by wrapping and loading pallets into outbound trailers for delivery to our retail stores (training provided).

Play an active role in helping your distribution center and your customer win:

• Unload trailers and railcars, break down pallets, and palletize items by SKU number
• Count items received, use RF terminal to match quantity received to P.O. quantity and apply the license plate; Ensure received items are tagged properly
• Identify and resolve overages, shortages, damage and vendor compliance issues
• Stack empty pallets in return bays up to eight pallets high
• Operate material handling equipment to move product within the warehouse, such as forklift, pallet jack, and clamp truck
• Be flexible to perform other duties as assigned
• Ability to adopt our safety procedures quickly and ensure safe work practices to avoid injury and damage to product within our safety culture
• Ability to work in hot environment of approximately 95 degrees F at upper levels during the summer and able to work with seasonal temperature variations
• Assist in other departments and perform a variety of other duties as assigned

Essential Skills And Experience

• Ability to work Monday-Friday 7:00 am-3:30 pm
• Minimum three (3) months related experience in a warehouse environment; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience
• Ability to lift, lower, push, pull or carry product up to a maximum of 100 pounds by hand, and work at average heights of up to 8-9 feet but up to 30 feet at times
• Perform moderate physical effort and use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity, regularly stand, walk, stoop, kneel, pull/push, twist, reach, climb ladders and crouch
• Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time
• Able to work with moderate noise level and operate warehouse equipment
• Demonstrated regular attendance and must have the ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift; additional overtime hours will be required based on business need
• Basic English language, reading and writing skills; basic math and data entry
• Pass a background check and drug screen

Preferred Skills And Experience

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
• Prior experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack and cherry picker helpful
