Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Conover, NC is seeking a Warehouse Associate II to support inventory storage and movement of goods. You will prepare shipments, perform counts, and operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

Flexibility is required to work day, night, and weekend shifts, and to fulfill duties across various warehouse areas with accuracy and attention to safety.

Qualifications

  • 18 years of age with up to 1 year of warehouse experience or military equivalent.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and operate material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare goods for shipment and attach packing slips.
  • Perform basic inventory counts and verify accuracy.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and handcarts to move goods.
  • Load/Unload vehicles and secure materials for transport.
  • Review returns and ensure proper processing and documentation.
  • Follow safety procedures and internal controls in daily tasks.

Job Title:Warehouse Associate IIDepartment:OperationsCountry:United States of AmericaState/Province:North CarolinaCity:ConoverFull/Part Time:Full timeJob Summary:Under routine supervision, this position is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of secure inventory storage and control of materials and into/out of the warehouse. Performs duties associated with storage, shipping, receiving, and physical counts of the assets to verify integrity. This position will operate equipment to assist with the movement of goods within the warehouse. The incumbent must be able to work any shift to satisfy the demand for flexibility in scheduling to ensure operational success. This includes but is not limited to, day shifts, night shifts, and weekend shifts.Job Description:Key Responsibilities:Prepare goods and materials to be shipped along with their corresponding packing slips; perform basic inventory maintenanceUse lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, or boxes and secure material or products for transport to designated areasEnsure compliance with established internal control procedures (e.g. dock doors are locked, wheel chocks utilization)Process material stock requests, orders, and returns using inventory and billing systems necessary for installationOperate Material Handling Equipment (MHE), such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and handcarts, to load and unload vehicles; Move levers or controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams with swivel-hooks, hoists, or elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, or stack material within and outside designated areasHandle defective, discontinued, or recalled goods; destroy returned goods as appropriatePerform check-ins and check-outs; verify order completeness and inspect for damageReview the daily processing of goods received as returns and the return of goods to vendors; ensure the timely and accurate processing of all returnsReceive, issue, and store supplies and equipment; process customer turn-ins; inspect, verify, and count supplies and equipment for accuracy, overall condition, and accountabilityQualifications:Minimum Qualifications:18 years of age with up to 1 year of experience in a warehouse setting and/or military equivalent experienceAbility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if neededPreferred Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED with 2-3 years of experienceCertified to drive a forkliftOSHA knowledgeAbility to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 100 pounds)Ability to wear appropriate work attire (bump cap, footwear, gloves, safety vests)Willingness to work flexible workdays and hoursAbility to multitaskThis position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.Compensation:Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
