Job summary

Maersk Ground Freight in San Diego is seeking a Warehouse Agent / Forklift Operator to support warehouse operations. You will receive, inspect, stage, and load freight, ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficient movement throughout the facility.

This role requires operating various forklifts, scanning freight, using WMS/TMS systems, and adhering to OSHA and Maersk safety protocols. A strong focus on safety and teamwork helps keep shipments flowing and customers satisfied.

Responsibilities

• Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks to move freight within the warehouse.
• Receive, inspect, and document inbound freight for accuracy and damage; report discrepancies.
• Stage and organize outbound freight by route, destination, or customer for efficient loading.
• Load and unload trailers, containers, and straight trucks with attention to weight distribution and safety.
• Scan all freight using handheld devices and update the WMS/TMS systems accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment at all times.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs.
• Follow OSHA and Maersk safety protocols including PPE requirements.
• Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and freight reconciliation as directed.

In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, staging, sorting, and loading freight accurately and efficiently - all while maintaining the highest standards of safety and care. This is a critical position that keeps our freight flowing and our customers happy.
