Job summary

GEODIS in Houston is seeking a warehouse associate to receive, store, move and distribute materials, following production schedules and customer orders. You will read schedules, transfer materials between receiving, storage and shipping, and ensure items are placed on shelves or pallets in an efficient layout.

The role involves lifting up to 50 pounds and working in a non-climate-controlled environment. Responsibilities include assembling orders from stock, sorting items by predefined criteria,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Minimum 1 to 3 months of related experience.
• Ability to perform operations using US customary units and weights, volumes, and distances.
• Ability to understand and follow simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments.

Responsibilities

• Receiving, storing, moving, and distributing materials.
• Reads production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved.
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequence (size, type, style, color, or product code).
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places on pallets or shelves, or conveys order to packing/shipping.
