Job summary

Johnson Brothers Liquor Company is seeking a Warehouse Slotting Specialist to optimize product placement and picking efficiency in our Virginia distribution operation. You will assign pick locations, slot new releases, and analyze sales data to improve productivity.

You will work closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure safety, accuracy, and optimal slotting across multiple zones, while maintaining permanent locations in the WMS and supporting replenishment activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Able to lift 30–70 lbs repeatedly and walk/stand for extended periods.
• Pass pre-employment screening and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assign pick locations for new items to balance workload across zones.
• Apply slotting strategies for new releases, limited and seasonal products.
• Analyze historical/forecast data to optimize item placement and productivity.
• Generate Moves List for location changes using slotting tools.
• Collaborate with Warehouse Manager to ensure location accuracy and safety.
• Assign and maintain permanent locations and capacities in WMS.
• Dynamically slot products to decrease pick times and replenishment needs.
• Use MS Excel and JBLC slotting tools to evaluate locations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by warehouse manager.

Job Description

Shift: Monday - Friday; 6:30AM - 3:30PM or until completion

Job duties

• Assign pick locations for new items for optimal picking and replenishment considering balancing work load across multiple work zones.
• Use slotting strategies for all new product releases, to include limited releases, seasonal products, and historical sales patterns.
• Analyze historical and forecast data to determine product placement for existing items in an effort to optimize worker productivity.
• Generate Moves List for items that require location changes based on sales and JBLC slotting tools.
• Work closely with Warehouse Manager and all warehouse employees for creative and innovative slotting to include slot capacities, location accuracy and safety concerns.
• Assign and maintain permanent locations and capacities in WMS.
• Dynamically slot products by using company tools to decrease pick times and replenishment activities.
• Utilize a variety of tools to include MS Excel and JBLC slotting tools to evaluate slotting locations.
• Other duties as assigned by warehouse manager on as-needed basis.

Job requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Ability to pass the pre-employment screening.
• Ability to repeatedly lift 30-70lbs.
• Ability to safely carry up to 20 lbs while maintaining a fast walking pace.
• Ability to safely operate pallet jack, forklift, cherry picker/order selector, reach truck.
• Must have reliable transportation to & from work along with good attendance record.
• Ability to work independently, be self managed and motivated to meet deadlines.
• Experience using a WMS (Warehouse Management System).
• Verbal and written communication skills for interacting with all levels of an organization.
• Ability to work independently and to make sound decisions.
• Microsoft office proficiencies (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Exceptional organization skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
