Job summary

Cardinal Health in New York is hiring a Warehouse Associate to support outbound and inbound operations. You will follow SOPs to pick, quality-check, sort, palletize, pack and prepare orders for shipment, using RF scanning and material handling equipment as needed.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long shifts, and flexibility for overtime. Benefits include health coverage, HSA/FSAs, a 401(k), and PTO, with a typical 4 PM start from Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years related experience preferred.
• Basic proficiency in English is required, including reading/writing in English.
• Previous material handling experience preferred.
• RF scanner/voice-picking experience highly preferred.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand 8+ hours.
• Overtime with little to no notice may be required.
• Willingness to operate material handling equipment and rotate areas.

Responsibilities

• Follow SOPs to process orders: pick, QC, sort, palletize, wrap, pack, and load shipments.
• Pick large items with equipment or small units onto designated carts.
• Cross-train in multiple warehouse areas and participate in projects.
• Use Warehouse Management System (WMS) to check in/out products.
• Operate material handling equipment as required.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and meet distribution quotas.
• Attend associate meetings and report concerns to management.
• Comply with OSHA standards and site safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 1 - 2 years related experience preferred
• Basic proficiency in English is required, including the ability to read and write in English
• Previous material handling experience preferred
• Radio frequency (RF) scanner and/or voice to pick experience highly preferred
• Ability to consistently lift 50 lbs and be able to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift of 8 hours or more required
• Must be able to work overtime with little to no advance notice
• Willingness to learn to operate material handling equipment and rotate into various areas of the warehouse
• Work at heights up to 25 feet consistently
• Adherence to site safety regulations including wearing required personal protective equipment such as steel-toed safety shoes, and material handling equipment safety harness; accountable to Cardinal Health’s EHS as well as QRA policies and procedures.
• Aptitude to work in a fast paced distribution environment while meeting hourly established distribution quotas and performance standards

Responsibilities

• Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to process orders including accurately picking, performing quality control checks, sorting, consolidating freight, building, and wrapping pallets, packing, loading, and preparing orders for shipment.
• Pick large case items with material handling equipment or pick small unit of measure items and place on designated cart.
• Cross-train in multiple areas of the warehouse and participate in projects as needed.
• Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) to check in and/or send out products.
• Drive material handling equipment as required by job duty.
• Example equipment in the facility may include order picker (cherry picker), forklift, reach truck, turret truck, pallet jack, and walkie rider.
• Complete housekeeping and inventory control tasks and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Work on routine assignments that require problem resolution.
• Participate in associate meetings and communicate any concerns to management.
• Perform all job duties in accordance with OSHA standards and adhere to all policies, rules, regulations, and procedures set by the organization.

Inbound positions receive products into the facility and outbound ships products to customers. What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand and supply. Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of products. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.
