Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Temp to Hire Warehouse Associate in York, Pennsylvania. The role offers weekly pay, on-the-job training, and safety gear. You will work in clean facilities, handling motorcycle and automotive parts, using powered equipment as needed, and supporting US distribution.

Overtime and strong teamwork are expected in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Qualified candidates have a HS diploma or equivalent and 6 months of warehouse experience; certification for powered industrial trucks

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of related warehouse experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Learn to operate powered industrial truck(s) and related equipment; certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Package, kit and/or assemble orders and materials.
• Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers and ensure scanning is correct.
• Train dock employees on new procedures as needed.
• Perform picking and packing duties and ensure security at end of shift.

Warehouse Positions Pay Weekly

• Hourly Pay $16.50 per hour
• Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 5:30pm & Fridays as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Six months of related warehouse experience required
• One (1) year or more related warehouse experience preferred
• Learn to operate powered industrial truck(s), such as: stand-up and sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, etc., including how to operate and maintain (change battery, recognize common mechanical issues) intermediate required
• May be required to operate manual and/or automated otherwarehouse/manufacturingequipment (such as a packaging line) intermediate preferred
• Powered industrial truck certification
• Ability to read, do basic mathematics in English for the purpose of safety, work instructions, policies, etc
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
• Ability to input data into the WMS computer system (s) in use
• Work overtime as assigned
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
• Ability to work independently and as member of a team
• Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
• Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized with excellent time management skills

Responsibilities

• Package, kit and/or assemble orders and materials.
• Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers. Ensure all scanning is completed correctly. Help train dock employees on new procedures. Ensure facility is secure at end of shift; investigate/resolve scanning issues and housekeeping. Perform picking and packing duties. Check for evidence of product or container damage
• Perform the assigned tasks as described in the location's policies and procedures standards to include handling of materials within associated logical transactions
• Perform material moves with associated physical/logical transactions as required
• Participate in workgroup and other team activities for the purpose of self improvement and improving warehouse operations and related business functions
• Perform housekeeping duties for assigned area
• Performs other duties as assigned
