Job summary

Butler Supply, Inc. seeks a reliable warehouse associate to be the face of the branch, handling order fulfillment, receiving, and inventory tasks with a strong customer-service mindset.

Daily duties include picking and packing orders, stocking materials, operating a forklift, and maintaining safety and organization across the warehouse. You will support a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment, upholding core values of service and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

The Role

Be the "face" of the company! Friendly interaction with customers and co-workers daily, while being able to be physically active and mindfully busy. Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Accurately and timely fill customer orders as needed by retrieving requested material.
  • Check in and put away material, verifying quantities and quality of received material. Maintain clear aisles and walkways. Ensure material is properly organized.
  • Accurately and safely load and unload trucks as needed.
  • Accurately and timely perform cycle counts as required.
  • Perform vehicle and/or forklift inspections as required.
  • Maintain positive attitude towards customers and co-workers by being friendly and courteous.
  • Assist in maintaining appearance of branch as needed, straightening, cleaning counter area, warehouse, bathrooms, etc.
  • Report back orders and/or material discrepancies.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner, following all safety rules. Inform manager of any potentially hazardous conditions. Participate in ongoing education and training as required. Continuously update product knowledge through any available resources in order to provide assistance at the counter. Stay informed and educated as to product inventory and applicability. Know location of merchandise in warehouse.
  • Assist in year-end physical inventories as requested.
  • Perform other responsibilities as directed.

  • Knowledge of electrical and/or plumbing supplies a plus.

Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to stand, sit, walk; use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, reach or carry.
  • Occasionally required climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently required to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Regularly required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to safely tolerate heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear; read and identify numbers
  • Regularly required to apply sound reasoning and logic in performing daily tasks.
  • Required to be able to safely operate material handling equipment including a forklift, pallet jack, wire-cutting machine.
