Job summary

Maersk in Peabody, MA is seeking a Warehouse Associate to load/unload cargo using hand trucks, reach trucks or forklifts. You will maintain a clean, safe workspace and verify loads against manifests; operate equipment and assist drivers with loading and unloading trucks.

The role requires reading and following detailed instructions in a fast-paced environment, ability to lift 50+ pounds, and reliable teamwork with minimal supervision; overtime and occasional weekends may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials using hand trucks, reach trucks, or forklifts.

They are to maintain a clean and safe work environment and identify any discrepancies in receiving loads against manifest.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Utilizing manifest to pull route, stage freight, and assist Drivers to load and unload trucksMaterial handling may include one or more of the following: picking, packing, scanning, kitting (as applicable), counting products and other like dutiesMust ensure timeliness, packaging, and systems work is completed accuratelyIdentifying and annotating overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D)Safely operate warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jacks, etc.Read and follow detailed and defined instructions in a fast-paced environmentEnsure safe and secure work environment including all TSA and OSHA guidelinesPerform other duties as assignedSKILLS/COMPETENCIES:Must be able to use forklifts, pallet jacks and banding/shrink wrap materialExperience using a RF scan gun requiredPrevious forklift certifications preferredMust be able to work overtime as needed, occasional weekendsMust be able to read and comprehend work instructions wellMust have ability to work well with othersHigh attention to detail requiredMust have ability to work well with others with little supervisionMust be able to lift 50+lbs. unassistedMust be able to speak, read, and write in EnglishEDUCATION:High School or equivalent requiredEXPERIENCE:Previous warehouse experience preferred - 1 years experiencePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:This position requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
