Working under the direction of the center’s manager, and within the guidelines of established procedures, the Warehouse Associate is responsible for selecting the appropriate item, packing it properly and moving any needed material. The incumbent has a direct effect on the level of customer service Valmont provides as a shipment error or incomplete shipment could cost our customer downtime and loss of crop. This position requires close attention to detail to accurately pick and pack the correct parts. Those parts are then prepared for shipment and the appropriate documentation is sent with each order. Parts can be loaded on a trailer or container, sent by express courier, or put in a vehicle for direct delivery to a local customer. The position of the Warehouse Associate also involves order entry processing, inventory control functions such as perform cycle counts, investigate and resolve discrepancies as well as direct customer service.
