Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions seeks a Warehouse Associate to prepare orders for storage, move and stock inventory, and organize the warehouse according to customer specifications. The role uses hand and power tools and equipment, and travels between North Kingstown, RI and Southbridge, MA locations.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license; CDL helpful but not required.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong reading/writing in English and basic math.
  • Ability to safely use hand/power/pneumatic tools and read a tape measure.
  • Able to problem-solve, work independently, and stay motivated.
  • Experience operating equipment including manuals/transmissions is a plus.
  • Positive, customer-oriented demeanor and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and organize orders for storage according to company/customer specs.
  • Move, stock, and record inventory; use forklifts/pallet jacks as needed.
  • Secure loads on trailers and inspect for damage; log movement.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment, assist in crate assembly with pneumatic tools.
  • Maintain facility safety, cleanliness, and proper logs for tasks.
  • Assist riggers/field personnel as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Position Summary

The Warehouse Associate will assist in preparing orders for warehouse storage and organizing the warehouse by company or customer specifications for received orders. Will move, stock, scan, secure, and record inventory as needed. Will use hand and power tools, and powered equipment related to the storage or movement of items. Warehouse Associates at some locations will additionally perform custodial and/or detailing tasks. This role will be responsible for our North Kingstown, RI and Southbridge, MA locations and will be required to travel between them throughout the week.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Fuel diesel trucks arrivingtothe warehouse; keep appropriate logs for fuel dispensing.
  • Move or re-position trucks as needed upon return to the warehouse.
  • Wash/clean, shine, and/or detail tractors, trailers, forklifts, and company vehicles.
  • Secure the facility and log incoming and outgoing movement of personnel.
  • Assist in the construction and assembly of crates and custom storage containers using pneumatic hand tools.
  • Adhere to safety practices with respect to self and others.
  • Housekeeping and custodial duties for thewarehouseincludebutisnot limitedto:sweeping, empty garbage cans, cleaning bathrooms and break room areas.
  • Move machinery/equipment with various-sized forklifts, pallet jacks or other powered equipment as necessary for optimizing safety and organization.
  • Verify incoming equipment or items for storage. Offload incoming equipment, inspect for damage, complete all related paperwork or logs.
  • Retrieve stored machinery & equipment forloadingcontract trailers or onto company vehicles.
  • Tie down, strap and secure loads on company trailers.
  • Perform inventory and inventory control functions.
  • Maintain equipment/tool inventory in designated areas.
  • Assist riggers and field personnel as needed with respect to equipment, tools and other needs.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, And Education)
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. CDL helpful but not required.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Good use of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words; must be able to keep legible records and logs, in English.
  • Basic reading and mathematical calculations, including the use of multiplication, division, fractions, or decimals.
  • Ability to safely use hand, power, and pneumatic tools, and read tape measure.
  • Abilitytoproblem-solve, work independently, and be self-motivated.
  • Knowledgeable in equipment operation, including manual transmissions, or pneumatic or hydraulic tools and equipment.
  • Have a pleasant and customer-oriented demeanor and ability to build positive work relationships.
  • Overtime/weekend work is sometimes required of this position.
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

This is very physical, hands-on work. A Warehouse Associate must be able to perform General Physical Activities — activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling or moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Must have the ability to work off the ground at varying heights and not be affected by moving machinery or parts. Work may vary between indoor, climate-controlled, or normal warehouse environment and non-temperature-controlled environment and/or outdoors in all types of weather, and over uneven ground or terrain.
