Job summary

Southern States Cooperative is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support daily warehouse, retail, and agronomy operations by receiving, storing, loading, and delivering products with a focus on exceptional customer service.

The role involves operating forklifts and other equipment, managing inventory, stocking shelves, and ensuring safety and cleanliness across indoor and outdoor areas. Propane tasks and training opportunities may be included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous warehouse, distribution, agricultural, retail stocking, or inventory experience preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred; certification required or ability to obtain certification.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, front-end loaders, skid loaders, and other industrial equipment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow safety procedures.
• Ability to handle agricultural products, including fertilizers and crop inputs, while following all applicable safety requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and heavier loads with assistance.
• Ability to work indoors, outdoors, and in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL and/or propane certification may be required based on location and job level.
• Leadership experience preferred for Lead and Supervisor levels.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, inspect, and store merchandise using forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
• Accurately pick, stage, load, and deliver customer orders.
• Assist customers with product selection, loading, and general service needs.
• Stock and replenish showroom and warehouse inventory.
• Mix, handle, package, and load fertilizer products and other agricultural materials in accordance with safety and environmental guidelines.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and operation of industrial equipment.
• Assist with inventory counts, merchandising displays, and facility maintenance.
• Fill propane cylinders as required and maintain related certifications where applicable.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse, showroom, and outdoor work areas.
• Support team operations and perform additional duties as assigned.
• For Lead and Supervisor levels, additional responsibilities may include training team members, assigning work, leading inventory activities, and resolving operational issues.
