Job summary

OneSource Distributors, part of the Sonepar group, is seeking a warehouse associate in California to load, unload, pick, pack, and ship materials. You will operate Eclipse for inventory and shipping documents, count and verify items, and assist with safe handling in a busy warehouse.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED (or 2–4 years warehouse experience), forklift certification after hire, strong math and communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED, or 2–4 years of related warehouse experience.
  • Ability to operate hand tools including wire cutting equipment.
  • Forklift operation certification after hire.
  • Knowledge of cargo securement techniques, chains, binders, straps, ropes, knots, plastic wrap, and cargo dunnage used.
  • Strong mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and move materials from storage to staging sites per each sales ticket.
  • Assemble materials and containers which need to be picked, moved, or staged.
  • Identify and prepare shipments; use pick tickets and work orders.
  • Package merchandise for shipment and ensure items are protected during transit.
  • Operate Eclipse to confirm picking, staging, and inventory changes.
  • Document shipments and inventory changes in Eclipse.

What you will do:
  • Load, unload, and move materials from storage to staging sites and/or designated areas per each sales ticket.
  • Use work orders and verbal instructions to assemble materials and containers which need to be picked, moved, or staged.
  • Collect and pick all materials included customer orders using the pick ticket.
  • Package merchandise for shipment to ensure maximum efficiency and reduce damage during the shipping process.
  • Properly wrap, label, and mark material for easy identification and loading.
  • Use Eclipse to confirm picking and staging of materials, ensuring proper piece count for drivers and customers.
  • Load materials onto vehicles and properly secure cargo.
  • Unload incoming vehicles, prepare necessary receiving documents, and receive the materials.
  • Document shipments and changes in inventory using Eclipse.
  • Clean work areas, machines, and equipment on a routine basis.
  • Safely operate all the necessary equipment in the work area. Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
  • Count, weigh or measure incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records; examine incoming shipments for damage or shortages and correspond with purchasing.
  • Perform regular counting of inventory, including running off wire and inspecting items for damage.
  • Communicate when supply inventory levels are low.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
What you will bring:
  • Knowledge of automated or computerized system operation.
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D), or 2-4 years of related warehouse experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Data-entry, reporting, and recordkeeping skills.
  • Knowledge of safety practices, and wears PPE as assigned.
  • Ability to operate hand tools including wire cutting equipment.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment. Must be Forklift Operation Certified after hire.
  • Knowledge of cargo securement techniques, chains, binders, straps, ropes, knots, plastic wrap, and cargo dunnage used.
  • Strong mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, including fractions and decimals.
  • Must be able to read and interpret invoices and packing slips.
  • Strong communication skills. Able to present information to management, customers, vendors, employees, and the public.
  • Problem-solving skills including collecting and presenting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions to solve practical problems where only limited information and standardization exists.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • The typical environment for this position is in a warehouse.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Outdoor work exposed to elements and non-conditioned warehouse spaces.
  • Able to bend, stoop, lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, unassisted.
  • Stand and walk continuously throughout an 8-hour shift (up to 100% of the time).
  • Climb ladders safely, work in dusty and dirty conditions; handle and store hazardous materials; clean and maintain a safe working environment.
Work hours:

7:00am – 4:00pm

Salary Range:
  • This is a non-exempt position and pays between $17.60 - $20.54per hour.This salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, within California. The actual range of the role may differ based on the location of the role.
