Responsibilities
- Assist drivers in unloading donations onto carts; separate soft and hard goods, large items, and furniture
- Weigh carts and organize full carts in the warehouse; accurately complete route paperwork with weights and truck checks of empty trucks
- Load trailers according to Savers guidelines; continuously record product weights and types while loading trailers
- Assist with daily counting and entry of stock on hand; assist in loading/unloading trucks for transfers to stores
- Loads and unloads trucks/trailers as directed by management
- Stacks boxes and bags on carts for weight verification; stacks large items and places furniture in designated areas
- Ensures aisles and walkways are clean and free from debris
- Uses a calculator to deduct or add tare weights to loaded carts to determine net weights; records cart numbers, weights, and unload times on driver route forms
- Completes Savers Delivery Reports with all required information
- Daily counts and records stock on hand in the warehouse and trailers; checks forklifts for safety compliance
- Performs other duties as assigned, including housekeeping of office and restrooms
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of OSHA, state, and Savers safety regulations and requirements
- Demonstrated organization skills
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to multi‑task several incoming and outgoing truck loads simultaneously
- Skill to create receiving logs and load sheets
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Capacity to set priorities, meet deadlines with flexibility, and multi‑task with minimal direction
- Detail‑oriented
Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Dock or warehouse experience – plus
- Forklift training certification
- Knowledge of proper lifting procedures and techniques
Physical Requirements
- Occasional lifting up to 70 lbs
- Ability to pull or push a pallet jack
- Ability to pull or push loaded carts onto a scale for weighing
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment, including extreme temperatures
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift continuously to complete daily tasks
