Responsibilities

• Pack, seal, label and affix postage to items being shipped.
• Examine contents and verify accuracy of shipments.
• Record shipment data for records.
• Determine shipping method using procedures, routes and rates.
• Contact carrier representatives to arrange shipping and delivery.
• Pull shipments from pick tickets.
• Communicate to resolve damages, shortages and nonconformances.
• Deliver or route materials using hand-truck, conveyor, bins or forklift.
• Assist with inventory control and cycle counting.
• Cross train to work in all distribution areas.

Tacony Corporation is on the lookout to find their next Warehouse Associate to join the team in St. Louis, MO. This role is a key part of the distribution process and ensures the correct items/parts are picked, packed, and shipped to the consumer. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for verifying and maintaining records on incoming / outgoing shipments.

What You'll Do

• Pack, seal, label and affix proper postage to items being shipped; these actions may require the use of hand tools, power tools, postage meter, computer and other similar devices.
• Examine contents and compares with records (such as manifests or orders) to verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments
• Record shipment data such as weight, charges, space availability, damages & discrepancies, for record-keeping purposes
• Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, route and rates
• Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instruction for shipping and delivery of materials
• Pull shipment from pick ticket
• Communicate with established representatives to resolve problems such as damages, shortages, nonconformance to specifications
• Deliver or route materials to departments using work devices such as hand-truck conveyor, sorting bins or fork truck as needed
• Assist with inventory control and cycle counting as assigned
• Cross train to work in all areas of the distribution process

What You'll Need

• High school diploma required
• Experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment and understanding of general manufacturing process and flows, preferred
• Must exhibit a strong attention to detail, positive attitude, team spirit, and a willingness to learn
• Must complete forklift training and certification
• Must be able to stand, walk, kneel or crouch for long periods of time, lift up to 70 pounds
• Ability to bend, stoop, twist, pull, walk, stretch, reach or lift over head
