Job summary

Wayfair is seeking a Warehouse Associate in Austin, TX to support the logistics network and ensure fast, accurate order fulfillment from inbound receipt to final-mile delivery.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, cross-training across multiple fulfillment functions to gain diverse experience while handling items up to 75 lbs unassisted and up to 150 lbs with team lift. Strong safety and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Reading English to ensure safety and accuracy.
• Basic computer skills for warehouse tech and inventory tasks.
• Experience in warehouse/logistics is preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, unload, and move furniture orders and inventory, including items up to 75 lbs unassisted and 150 lbs with team lift.
• Use scanners and handheld devices to track inventory and locations through all stages.
• Perform quality checks, assembly, repackaging, labeling, and sorting to prevent damage before shipping.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

What You’ll Do (Core Responsibilities)

• Handling & Movement: Safely load, unload, and move large and small furniture orders and inventory of various sizes. This will involve manually lifting items up to 75 lbs. unassisted and maneuvering/team lifting products up to 150 lbs.
• Technology & Inventory: Utilize scanners, handheld devices (e.g., Nexus), and warehouse software to accurately track, process, and update inventory and order locations across all operational stages.
• Quality & Preparation: Perform comprehensive quality control tasks, which may include inspecting, assembling (deluxing), repackaging, labeling, and sorting products to prevent damage before shipping.
• Safety & Teamwork: Strictly adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area (5S) to ensure safety and efficiency.

What You’ll Need

• Physical Capability:
  • The ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and work a full shift (8+ hours a day) in a dynamic, non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
  • The ability to frequently lift and move merchandise up to 75+ lbs. unassisted.
• Able to read and comprehend English to ensure your safety and the safety of those working around you.
• Experience (Preferred): Previous warehouse, logistics, or comparable experience is preferred. A High School Diploma or GED is also preferred.
• Technical Skills: Basic ability to use computers, tablets, and handheld inventory devices is essential.
