Job summary

Wegmans is seeking a warehouse selector in Ashland, VA to accurately pick products for Wegmans stores. The role requires overnight shifts (four 10-hour days) and involves maintaining cold-chain integrity and the use of pallet jacks, forklifts, and Vocollect.

Pay is $20.50 per hour with potential for an extra $500 bonus and cold-weather allowances. Applicants must be 18+, and positions offer comprehensive benefits and safety training.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and teamwork are essential to select products accurately for Wegmans stores.
• Experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, and Vocollect is preferred.
• Candidates should be able to work overnight and be comfortable with a physically active role.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently build pallets to maximize space and minimize damage.
• Operate pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect as needed.
• Perform order audits to verify accuracy and quality.
• Maintain knowledge of product quality standards/specifications.
• Maintain cold chain integrity for temperature-controlled loads.
• Lift 20-25 pounds on average; occasional heavier lifting.

As a warehouse selector on our distribution team, you’ll help deliver exceptional service by accurately and efficiently selecting products for Wegmans stores, using your attention to detail and teamwork skills to ensure success.

Work schedule: Overnight positions consist of four 10-hour shifts per week

What You'll Do

• Ensure pallets of product are built safely and efficiently in a manner that minimizes product damage in transportation and maximizes trailer space

• Safely operate equipment necessary to perform job duties; this may include a forklift, pallet jack, and/or Vocollect

• Perform order audits to determine accuracy and quality

• Maintain knowledge of all quality standards/specifications and requirements for all products

• Inform operations management of daily quality issues using reports as well as other forms of necessary communication

• Maintain the integrity of the cold chain on loads that have temperature requirements

• May work in and have exposure to cold temperatures; lift weight of 20-25 pounds on average with maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience with operating a pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect

Note : Frozen positions earn an extra $2.00 /hour
