Food Bank of Alaska in Anchorage, Alaska is seeking a Warehouse Associate for a full-time, non-exempt role reporting to the Warehouse Manager. This is a full-time, non exempt position that reports to the Warehouse Manager. This position starts at $20-$22 DOE.
The Warehouse Associate provides daily support to warehouse operations by participating in order selection, receiving incoming freight, and loading and unloading freight vans and company vehicles. Responsibilities include daily cleaning assignments, completing inventory counts, and safely operating forklifts and motorized pallet jacks.
This role provides friendly and professional service to agencies and vendors while following all organizational standards. It also helps ensure that all outgoing orders meet established quality expectations and that safe workplace practices are consistently maintained.
The Warehouse Associate reports directly to the Warehouse Manager for daily assignments.
Ensure quality control of inventory storage and product movement across dry, chill, and freeze areas
Pull order selections for dry, chill, and freeze products
Assist at the agency desk as needed
Provide excellent customer service to partner agencies
Maintain a prompt, friendly, welcoming, and courteous presence at all times
Assist drivers with loading and unloading incoming and outgoing product
Support inventory controls including cycle counts and rack tagging
Complete daily cleaning of the warehouse and shopping areas including cooler and freezer
Help maintain high sanitation standards across dry, chill, freeze, sorting room, and bathrooms
Assist with major Food Bank events
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED
Friendly, outgoing, dependable team player willing to help wherever needed
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills and comfort working with the public
Solid basic math skills
Basic computer experience with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
Ability to work in a fast paced warehouse with heavy foot traffic
Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, and handle cans, boxes, and bags up to 50 pounds
