Job description

As a Warehouse Assistant, you'll provide essential support to our warehouse operations by receiving, organizing, tracking, and delivering materials and equipment for commercial HVAC, plumbing, and controls projects across job sites. Working closely with the Warehouse Manager and field teams, you'll maintain an efficient, safe, and organized warehouse environment while ensuring timely material availability to support project schedules and client needs. Our people-first culture values your reliability and teamwork with hands-on training, opportunities for growth, and the satisfaction of contributing to smooth operations that deliver sustainable, high-quality commercial building services nationwide at any of our operating companies.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and log incoming materials and equipment on a daily basis, verifying quantities, condition, and accuracy against purchase orders/delivery tickets.
  • Organize and maintain inventory in the warehouse, including proper labeling, storage, and rotation of stock to support future job needs and minimize waste.
  • Coordinate and execute deliveries to job sites, experience with up 40ft gooseneck trailers, loading/unloading vehicles safely and efficiently while adhering to delivery schedules.
  • Ship materials and equipment back to suppliers or other locations as required, preparing shipments and documentation accurately.
  • Track inventory levels, update records, and assist with cycle counts to ensure accuracy and availability for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment, including housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and safety compliance.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks, staging materials for field teams, and supporting other warehouse tasks as needed.
  • Document all transactions, receipts, shipments, and inventory movements accurately using warehouse systems or basic records.
Supervisory Responsibilities

None (individual contributor role focused on operational support and coordination; may provide informal guidance to temporary staff or new hires as needed).

Requirements/Qualifications
  • Experience: 0–2 years in warehouse, logistics, delivery, or related field; experience in construction/mechanical supply environments a plus, but no prior experience required—strong work ethic and eagerness to learn essential.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Valid driver's license and clean driving record required; forklift operator certification (or willingness to obtain within first 90 days) required; CDL (or ability to obtain) a plus for larger vehicle operation.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs, climb ladders/stairs, bend/kneel/crouch, reach overhead, stand/walk for extended periods, and operate material handling equipment; frequent manual dexterity and physical stamina required.
  • Work Environment/Safety: Primarily warehouse-based with frequent job-site deliveries (indoor/outdoor, varying weather); exposure to noise, dust, heights, heavy materials, and vehicle hazards; must strictly adhere to OSHA regulations, conduct hazard identification, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots at all times—safety is our top priority and non‑negotiable. This is a safety-sensitive position. Frequent local/regional travel for deliveries and occasional on‑call availability may be required as business needs dictate.
Required Skills
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to handle tools/equipment safely.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Customer service orientation and teamwork with warehouse, field, and project teams.
  • Safe driving habits and familiarity with delivery/logistics processes.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, inventory tracking systems) a plus.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and positive professional demeanor.
