Position Overview

Iron Will Ventures is seeking a senior leader to serve as our Wallops Site Lead – Test & Range Integration at Wallops Island, Virginia. This individual will serve as Iron Will’s senior on‑site representative at Wallops and support efforts to expand the capacity, capability, and cadence of advanced flight testing and launch operations. The position will work across Department of War organizations, Government test programs, commercial launch providers, range organizations, and industry partners to help enable more frequent and increasingly complex test missions.

The Site Lead will bring a strong understanding of flight-test and range operations and will help identify and address the technical, infrastructure, integration, scheduling, and operational challenges that can constrain test execution.

This is a senior position for someone who understands how flight-test ranges operate, can work effectively across Government and commercial organizations, and can translate complex operational challenges into practical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Government efforts to increase test capacity, availability, and mission cadence at Wallops.
• Support Department of War and commercial flight-test, launch, target, hypersonic, missile, and other advanced mission activities.
• Assess range capabilities, infrastructure, processes, and operational constraints and identify opportunities to improve mission throughput.
• Coordinate across Government organizations, test programs, range operators, commercial launch providers, and industry partners.
• Identify and help resolve constraints affecting mission execution, including scheduling, infrastructure, telemetry, tracking, communications, instrumentation, flight safety, launch operations, and mission integration.
• Support development of future range capability, infrastructure, and investment requirements.
• Assist with the integration of new test capabilities, launch systems, instrumentation, and mission architectures.
• Support planning for higher-cadence and increasingly complex test operations.
• Provide technical and programmatic insight to Government and program leadership regarding range capabilities and mission execution.
• Serve as Iron Will’s senior representative at Wallops and maintain strong working relationships across the Wallops test and launch community.
• Maintain awareness of evolving Government and commercial requirements, capabilities, and activities at Wallops.
• Coordinate with Iron Will leadership and technical teams to bring appropriate company capabilities and expertise to emerging mission needs.

Qualifications

• Significant relevant experience in flight test, range operations, launch operations, systems engineering, program management, or related technical fields.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex technical or operational efforts involving multiple Government and industry organizations.
• Strong understanding of the infrastructure, personnel, processes, and systems required to execute complex flight-test or launch missions.
• Ability to identify systemic constraints and develop practical approaches for increasing test capacity and operational efficiency.
• Experience working across Government, military, range, and industry organizations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate independently and represent Iron Will effectively in a highly collaborative, mission-focused environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, technical management, or a related discipline preferred. Significant directly relevant experience may be considered in lieu of specific degree requirements.
• Active Secret security clearance required; ability to obtain and maintain a TS clearance preferred.

• Experience supporting Department of War advanced weapons testing, hypersonic programs, missile defense, commercial launch operations, targets, or similar national test infrastructure is highly desirable
