Job summary

Outworx Group is seeking a Walk Laborer for ORD Airport in Franklin Park, IL. You will work outdoors removing snow and keeping sidewalks and gate areas safe to support airport operations.

Responsibilities include shoveling, operating a snowblower, spreading salt and chemicals, and following supervisor directions. On-call from Oct 15 to Apr 30 with long hours, weekends, and holidays expected.

Qualifications

• Able to work 4-8 hours of physical labor outside.
• Transportation to and from Franklin Park office required.
• Need to have a cell phone for clocking in, clocking out and communication with supervisor.
• On-Call availability from October 15th to April 30th, must be willing and able to work long hours, weekends and holidays.
• Required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift, grasp, carry, push and pull.
• Must be able to shovel snow for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift and/or move 50 pounds plus.
• Must provide own outdoor footwear (boots), clothing, gloves and head covering appropriate for outside conditions.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Walk Laborer Overview

The Walk Laborer works with a team to keep high foot-traffic areas on the airfield safe and clear of ice/snow to allow continued airport operations. This includes keeping airport sidewalks and gate areas sage and clear of snow and ice. They will perform tasks that involve manual labor related to snow removal, such as shoveling, using a snowblower and spreading snow-melting chemicals. This work will be performed outdoors in winter weather and requires steady effort, dependability and communications with supervisors and crews. Rest breaks, snacks and warming opportunities during shifts will be provided.

Walk Laborer Essential Duties and Responsibilities
