Walden Behavioral Care seeks a Registered Dietitian in Middletown, CT to provide clinical nutrition and individualized meal plans under the supervision of the Director of Ambulatory Nutrition Services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition.
• Experience providing direct nutritional care in an Eating Disorder Service and Mental Health setting preferred.
• Experience with menu planning and therapeutic diets in a healthcare setting required.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical nutrition and meal plans in line with Walden’s philosophy and objectives.
• Conducts nutrition assessments and documents findings.
• Performs individual and group nutrition therapy.
• Provides meal plan outlines and guides nutrition rehabilitation.
• Participates in treatment team planning and discharge planning.
• Delivers nutrition education to patients and families.
• Communicates progress to patients, families, and treatment teams.
• Supervises meals and offers meal coaching as needed.

Pay: $73,000.00-$96,400.00 depending on experience and education

Responsibilities Include:

• Provides clinical nutrition and meal plans in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Walden Behavioral Care
• Provide Nutrition assessments to all patients and accurately and thoroughly document nutritional assessment and patient issues using appropriate clinical terminology.
• Perform individual and group nutrition therapy.
• Provide meal plan/guide outlines and work with patients towards nutrition rehabilitation.
• Participate in treatment team planning and discharge planning.
• Provide effective nutrition education to patients and families.
• Communicate progress and activities related to treatment and continuing care plans on an ongoing basis to the patient, family, treatment team, referral source and other individuals involved in the patient’s care.
• Supervise breakfast, lunch and snacks while providing meal coaching to clients, as needed.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition

Experience:

• Experience providing direct nutritional care in an Eating Disorder Service and Mental Health setting, preferred
• Experience with menu planning and therapeutic diets in a healthcare setting, required

Licensure/Certification:

• Licensed Dietitian with the state of MA
• Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Registration from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)
• CPR Certification
