Job summary

Sodexo Live is seeking a Wait Staff Tipped at BENAROYA Hall in Seattle. This part-time role offers varied shifts and a $23 per hour pay range. You will provide attentive service for a diverse menu, with opportunities to advance and gain certification where applicable.

You’ll greet guests, take orders, suggest menu options, and ensure accuracy and quality throughout the shift. Prior experience and HS diploma preferred; alcohol-service certs may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 1 year related experience.
• If applicable, must be at or over the minimum age to serve alcohol based on local city and state regulations.
• May require a valid TIPS/TEAM or equivalent alcohol-service certification and must comply with state-specific alcohol training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests, present menus, and introduce specials or menu changes.
• Provide recommendations on meals, beverages, and wine; answer questions about menu items and allergens.
• Accurately take and relay orders to the kitchen; confirm orders with guests; process in correct sequence.
• Check items for quality and presentables; ensure attractive and consistent plating.
• Monitor guest needs and address concerns professionally.
• Significant walking or other mobility; stand for extended periods; shift duration may exceed 8 hours.
• Assist with lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Attend shifts on time with satisfactory regularity.
• Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts based on business needs.

What You’ll Do:

As a Wait Staff Tipped at Sodexo Live, you will provide customers with efficient and attentive service while exceeding the customer’s expectations. The Wait Staff will serve a variety of made-fresh-to-order entrées, appetizers, desserts, and beverage items from Sodexo Live’s restaurant menu while exhibiting a professional, friendly, and attentive approach. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Sodexo Live may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

Responsibilities include:

• Greet and seat guests, present menus, and introduce specials or menu changes.

• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on meals, beverages, and wine, and answer questions about menu items, allergens, and preparation.

• Accurately take and relay orders to the kitchen, confirm orders with guests, and process them in the correct sequence.

• Check all items for quality and completeness, ensuring that presentations are attractive, appetizing, and consistent.

• Monitor guest needs, respond to requests, and address concerns or complaints with professionalism.

• Significant walking or other means of mobility.

• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time, throughout the entire duration of a shift, which may exceed 8 hours.

• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds.

• The employee must be able to use hands to finger, handle, feel or reach with hands and arms.

• Ability to taste and smell.

• Ability to perform repetitive motions.

• Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity

• Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

What You Bring:

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

• 0 to 1 year related experience.

• If applicable, must be at or over the minimum age to serve alcohol based on local city and state regulations

• May require a valid TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures), TEAM (Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management), or equivalent alcohol-service certification, and must comply with all state-specific alcohol training requirements.
