Job summary

onsemi is seeking a Wafer Fab Operator to join the Manufacturing Operations Team in Hopewell Junction, NY. The role loads wafers, verifies specs, monitors equipment and productivity, and identifies adjustments. Night Shift 1 runs Sundays to Tuesdays and every other Wednesday, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with 15% night differential.

  • Responsible for operating tools to process wafers through the applicable stage in the manufacturing process.
  • Make minor corrections or adjustments to the process and equipment and recognize when a technician or engineer is needed; suggest productivity improvements.
  • Perform all activities safely and comply with EH&S requirements.
  • Perform multi-functional wafer fabrication processes and equipment operations.
  • Obtain and maintain required skill certifications.
  • Utilize Lot Priority and other inventory management systems for product tracking and communications.
  • Be an active member of the work team and assume a logistical role.
  • Use SPC to audit control charts.
  • Maintain equipment qualifications and status in the work area.
  • Maintain and monitor all clean room protocols.
  • Comply with safety standards and participate in monitoring them.
  • Utilize computer aided manufacturing tools like Workstream and Cold Fusion for data recording and reporting.

Job Summary:


onsemi is seeking a highly motivated Wafer Fab Operator to join the Manufacturing Operations Team. The role of the Manufacturing Specialist is primarily to load wafers into production equipment, verify product specs against equipment settings, monitor equipment operation, monitor process pace/productivity, and recognize when something is out of adjustment.


Night shift 1: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday every other Wednesday 6:30 PM-7:00 AM, 15% night shift differential


Sign-on bonus: $1,500


Sign-On Bonus: Subject to your commencing employment with us, you will also be eligible to receive a sign-on award in the gross amount of $1,500.00, which will be paid in 4 quarterly payments of $375 each (subject to applicable taxes and payroll deductions). The first payment is payable within the first 30 days of you joining onsemi and quarterly thereafter for 3 additional payments. You must be an active employee with onsemi to receive these sign-on awards. In addition, if your employment is terminated with onsemi for any reason, the sign-on award(s) received as of the date of your termination do not need to be repaid to onsemi

  • Performing all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health and Safety requirements and programs.

  • Perform multi-functional wafer fabrication processes and equipment operations.

  • Obtains and maintains all required skill certifications.

  • Utilizes Lot Priority and other inventory management systems as required for product tracking and communications.

  • Is an active member of the work team and will assume a logistical role as part of the team.

  • Uses Statistical Process Control (SPC) to audit control charts.

  • Performs and maintains equipment qualifications and status in the work area.

  • Is responsible for maintaining and monitoring of all clean room protocols.

  • Must assure compliance with all safety standards and participate in monitoring them.

  • Must be able to utilize computer aided manufacturing such as Workstream and Cold Fusion for communication, data recording and report extraction.

  • May perform other duties as assigned by management.


Marginal Functions


Participates in basic equipment trouble shooting and preventive maintenance.


Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.


May performs changes or refills of chemicals in the work area.


May be required to aid in the training of new employees or lesser skilled employees.


May be required to cross-train in multiple work areas of production.


Qualifications

Requirements:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be able to work a 12-hour shift in a clean-room environment.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Must be able to lift to 25 pounds and frequently move it over extended distances. Potential lifting above shoulder height or overhead may be required.

  • Job requires extensive standing and walking between various tools.Must be able to stand, stoop, and reach for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to push/pull typically about 100 lbs., but up to 500 lbs. via rolling cart or rolling wire rack.

  • Must have sufficient hand manipulation and ability to grasp wafer pod frequently during shift.

  • Must be able to work with a variety of chemicals and gases.


onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $18.75-$25.87 per hour exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
