Job summary

Seagate Technology seeks a Wafer Equipment Engineering Technician III to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair vacuum equipment in wafer fabrication. You will read schematics, work with PLCs and robotics, and administer preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.

The role requires teamwork, strong troubleshooting, and clear communication. AAS technical degree is preferred, with the ability to work a Monday–Thursday 6am–6pm shift and some Fridays, on-site at Normandale.

About the role - you will

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair vacuum equipment in wafer fabrication.
• Utilize knowledge of electronic circuits, PLCs, robotics, and the ability to read schematics.
• Follow and complete preventive maintenance instructions.
• Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot equipment in a manner that meets company standards and ensures minimal equipment downtime.
• Repairing and maintaining production and production test equipment.
• Establish and maintain preventive maintenance programs and procedures.
• Administer training programs to ensure proper equipment operation, preventive maintenance, and repair procedures.
• Work on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative.
• Understand the implications of work and make recommendations for solutions.
• Determine methods and procedures for new assignments.
• Provide guidance to other nonexempt personnel.
• Serve as a skilled specialist and complete tasks in creative and effective ways.
• Work with chemicals while following all required safety procedures.

• Must be able to work A shift Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & every other Thursday 6am to 6pm

You Might Also Have

• Associate of Applied Science (AAS) technical degree.
• Preferred software and hardware experience.
• Postsecondary education or relevant military experience preferred.

The estimated base wage range for this position is $27.37 - $39.13/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
