Job summary

EY is seeking a WAF Operations Solution Engineer to implement and manage web application firewalls, protecting client applications from cyber threats and ensuring steady, secure operations.

You will monitor application traffic, analyze security events, respond to incidents, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to enhance security posture using Cloudflare, Imperva, and Terraform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in web application security operations with focus on WAF management.
• Hands-on experience with Cloudflare and Imperva.
• Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing systems.
• Certifications such as CISSP or Security+ are a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Configure, manage, and optimize WAF solutions for web applications.
• Provide ongoing operational coverage of web application firewalls.
• Monitor application traffic and security events to identify threats.
• Analyze security incidents, including root cause analysis and remediation.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate incidents.
• Develop and maintain WAF policies, rules, and documentation.
• Support security audits and assessments.
• Stay updated on threats and security technologies.
• Utilize Cloudflare and Imperva for WAF implementation and management.
• Leverage Terraform for IaC to automate deployments.
• Mentor junior engineers on WAF management and incident response.
