Job Purpose
The objective of the General Labor position is to pick products using an RF scanner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists the Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse.
- Utilizes an RF scanner, performs manual product picking QC, wrapping, staging, and labeling.
- Maintains a general understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.
- Loads and unloads RJW trucks/trailers safely and efficiently using proper procedures, including outside carrier equipment.
- Works 10 to 12 hour shifts when necessary and is comfortable working at heights.
- Picks and moves stock ranging from 1 lb. to 50 lbs. multiple times.
- Ensures all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.
- Maintains warehouse areas with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
- Processes outbound cross‑dock freight as needed.
- Oversees proper storage of stock in the warehouse and moves product into storage racks.
- Records and verifies the accuracy of shipments against paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments/deliveries.
- Ensures all documentation and paperwork is properly completed.
- Follows all OSHA regulations, RJW safety policies, and procedures.
- Handles all customer products properly and orderly.
- Checks deliveries for poor packing, general conditions of materials, and free of damage; alerts the Warehouse Supervisor of any problems, taking pictures if necessary.
- Reports all accidents/incidents, employee damage, or building damage to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
- Spotting trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and equipment flow for the day.
- Maintains access to dock doors both inside and outside the facility, keeping them free of debris or snow.
- Performs any other tasks assigned by the manager/supervisor.

- Possesses a sense of urgency, accountability, and can work with limited supervision.
- Has a general understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment.
- Can read, write, and understand English.
- Exhibits attention to detail and quality.
- Communicates clearly and concisely, with strong problem‑resolution and interpersonal skills.
- Is flexible to work overtime when needed and can provide coverage for other shifts.
- Possesses PC skills (helpful).
- Can work in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.
Qualifications
- 3–6 months of General Labor experience in a warehouse using an RF scanner.
- Good stable work record.
Education and/or Experience Required
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
- Warehousing certifications are a plus.
Language Skills Sets
- Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English.
- Can read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Can write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Can effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
- Can solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Can interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Can determine the root cause of a problem and identify corrective action.
Physical Demands
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must use phone systems with keyboards and buttons.
- Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
- Works primarily in an indoor environment and uses repetitive hand motion.
- Frequently talks, hears, bends over, squats, reaches, pushes, pulls, stands, and walks.
- Can work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
- Can work under stressful situations, maintains work accuracy, and concentrates on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Can read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
- Can speak and communicate clearly over the telephone.
- Is in sound physical health as determined by a licensed physician with no evidence of controlled substance use.
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
