Job summary

Research Innovations is seeking a Security Researcher to independently explore and exploit complex systems, from kernels to embedded platforms, with a focus on defense and homeland security.

The role requires strong fundamentals in memory, CPU architectures, OS internals, and practical experience with reverse engineering tools. You will work closely with a team on research projects, share findings, and help advance secure software and hardware capable of national security impact.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in low-level systems concepts (memory layout, CPU basics, OS internals)
• Experience with reverse engineering or vulnerability discovery
• Proficiency with tools like IDA, Ghidra, Binary Ninja or debuggers
• Proficiency writing Python and at least one compiled language (C)
• Knowledge of exploit mitigations (ASLR, DEP/NX, stack canaries) and network protocols

Responsibilities

• Conduct reverse engineering and vulnerability analysis on apps, OS components, and embedded systems with guidance from senior researchers
• Identify attack surfaces, analyze in-memory behavior, and document findings
• Create simple PoCs or scripts to validate discovered vulnerabilities
• Support research on mobile devices, firmware, and embedded platforms
• Collaborate with teammates, contribute to tooling, and communicate results clearly
