Job summary

CVS Health seeks a Distributed Systems Architect to define, evolve, and own the technical architecture of the Vulnerability Services Engine (VSE) platform, the enterprise-scale vulnerability and exposure management system.

This hands-on architect-engineer will lead distributed systems and data processing using Spark, Databricks, and Kafka across multi-cloud Azure, GCP, and AWS, while mentoring delivery teams and driving performance and observability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing large-scale distributed systems.
• 5+ years with big-data platforms and high-volume data integration.
• 5+ years building web and service-based applications.
• Hands-on coding in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• 5+ years in senior technical leadership roles with hands-on ownership.
• Experience in enterprise-scale, mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical ownership and architectural leadership for the Vulnerability Services Engine (VSE) platform.
• Own data architecture and evolution of vulnerability and exposure data products.
• Define system and solution architectures and implementation standards.
• Lead distributed systems and big-data design for telemetry ingestion and analytics.
• Define and implement integration strategies across multi-cloud environments (Azure, GCP, AWS).
• Provide hands-on engineering leadership through code contributions and design reviews.
• Establish performance engineering and observability practices.
• Serve as technical lead for vendor evaluations and proofs-of-concept.
• Advise Exposure Management and ISTS teams on platform direction.
