Vertical Mechanical Group Inc. is hiring a VRF Piping Mechanic to install and braze VRF refrigerant piping on commercial projects in the DMV area. The role emphasizes copper piping fabrication, brazing, and coordination with HVAC crews.

You will read blueprints, follow manufacturer specs, and ensure safe, high-quality installations while traveling to active project sites in the DMV region. The position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of HVAC piping-installation experience.
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on VRF system installation experience.
• Experience installing copper refrigerant piping on commercial projects.
• Strong brazing, soldering, and copper-pipe fabrication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Familiarity with pressure testing and leak-detection procedures.
• Ability to travel to active project sites throughout the DMV region.

Responsibilities

• Install VRF refrigerant piping according to approved plans and manufacturer specifications.
• Install condensate piping, insulation, hangers, supports, and related components.
• Measure, cut, bend, fabricate, and assemble copper refrigerant piping.
• Coordinate piping connections to indoor and outdoor VRF equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and project specifications.
• Communicate material needs, installation conflicts, and field concerns promptly.
• Perform brazing and soldering using approved procedures.
• Complete pressure testing, evacuation support, and leak detection.
• Inspect piping systems for proper installation and secure connections.
• Assist HVAC technicians with system testing, commissioning, and startup.
