Job summary

State of Tennessee is seeking a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor to provide counseling and guidance to individuals with disabilities in West Tennessee, primarily Madison County. The role may cover adjacent counties and requires a criminal background check.

The position is hybrid and located in Jackson, TN within the Department of Human Services. Qualifications include a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or an advanced related degree with CRCC eligibility or certification.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling is required.
• OR a Master's/doctoral degree in a related field with coursework emphasized on rehabilitation, counseling, disability, therapy, health, employment, wellness, or human development and an approved education plan.
• Must enroll in specified courses with plan within 36 months of hire and submit ed plan.
• Within 90 days of hire, pre-review request to CRCC for eligibility to test for the Certified Rehab Counselor Certification.
• Active CRCC certification is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Collects customer medical and psychological information to determine eligibility for services.
• Monitors local labor market trends to facilitate job placement and maximize employment outcomes.
• Conducts assessments to evaluate customers' skills, abilities, and employment goals.
• Develops and implements personalized rehabilitation and employment plans.
