Job summary

Primrose School of Tampa Palms in Wesley Chapel, FL is seeking an experienced Teacher to plan and implement an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of each child, in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning approach.

As a teacher you will supervise a group of children, follow approved lesson plans, engage families through conferences, and maintain a warm, inviting classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency.
• Previous teaching or assistant teaching in a licensed early childhood program preferred.
• Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and assist in infant/toddler care as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily supervision and class functions for a group of children.
• Observe health, safety and care regulations per agency guidelines.
• Assess each child’s developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
• Implement approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule.
• Plan parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations with Leadership Team.
• Maintain a tidy, inviting classroom that encourages exploration and decision-making.
• Provide positive recognition and clear expectations for behavior.
• Assist in maintenance and housekeeping duties of classroom and play areas.
• Attend required staff meetings and school functions.
• Adhere to company appearance guidelines and policies.
