Job summary

Bank of Montreal (BMO) is seeking a Vice President, Strategy & Business Management for Global Equity Derivatives in New York. You will drive GED’s strategic agenda, connect front office with Finance, Risk, Operations, and Technology, and prepare executive materials for governance and decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related discipline.
  • MBA, CFA, CPA, CA or equivalent designation is considered an asset.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in Capital Markets, Global Markets, Finance, or a related function.
  • Understanding of equity derivatives, structured products, listed options, convertibles, or exchange-traded products.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, problem-solving, and business case development capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with management reporting, data visualization, and analytics tools.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Managing Director to shape and execute GED’s strategic agenda, translating priorities into actionable plans and governance.
  • Prepare board, management committee, business review, and executive materials with financial, operational, risk, and strategic insights.
  • Support financial performance management through P&L reviews, forecasting, variance analysis, and business cases.
  • Lead strategic, regulatory, operational, and technology initiatives from planning through implementation.
  • Improve scalability, client experience, data quality, controls, workflow efficiency, and operational resilience through automation and analytics.
  • Provide transparent reporting on initiative status, financial commitments, risks, decisions, and actions.
