Job summary

Morningstar DBRS is seeking a Vice President, Sports Finance to expand analytical coverage across sports and project finance in North America. Lead credit analysis, engage with issuers and investors, and shape the firm’s perspective on sectors with active financing activity.

You will oversee ratings on sports franchises, stadiums, and related media assets, and collaborate with teams across Sports Finance, Project Finance, and Infrastructure Finance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in project or infrastructure finance or equivalent.
• Experience evaluating project-financed transactions and infrastructure assets.
• Strong financial statement analysis, forecasting and credit assessment.
• Knowledge of sports finance and related markets (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS).
• Experience reviewing legal documentation and transaction structures.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis and surveillance of sports franchise, stadium, and sports media-related ratings.
• Develop rating recommendations and present conclusions to rating committees.
• Produce rating reports, press releases, and research on sports finance and infrastructure sectors.
• Engage with issuers, investors, and market participants as a primary analytical contact.
• Review financing agreements and legal structures supporting transactions.
• Contribute to development of rating methodologies and analytical frameworks.
• Represent Morningstar DBRS at conferences and industry events.
• Mentor junior analysts and support the broader analytics team.
