Job description

Overview

Work Arrangement:

***This is a remote position and can be located anywhere in the U.S.A.***

Manages and performs due diligence required to collect, manage, examine, and accept the required documentation from clients for a wide range of commercial loan products, including but not limited to: SBA, USDA, loan participations, loan purchases, and conventional loan closings. Interacts directly with applicants, referral sources, bankers, attorneys, and third-party providers including the SBA, CDC, and USDA business partners throughout the process.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  1. Collects, audits, and examines all documents essential for loan closing, including tracking, engaging, and confirming compliance of all third-party reports such as real estate appraisals, environmental reports, business valuations, franchise reports and agreements, flood certification, UCC searches, filings, title reports, etc.
  2. Verifies that SBA’s/USDA’s Terms & Conditions are in accordance with loan approval and credit analysis based on program participation levels.
  3. Tracks and funds Guarantee Fees to meet SBA requirements.
  4. Builds, scans, assembles, and maintains all loan files in accordance with company procedures, processes, and standards, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
  5. Audits, reviews, accepts, or obtains proper approval of all loan documentation before and after loan closing to ensure completeness and correctness. Follows up with applicants or relevant parties to obtain missing information, reviews data for inconsistencies, and documents non-standard matters with proper approval.
  6. Completes and reviews all required loan closing documentation following Bank and SBA/USDA guidelines.
  7. Creates and maintains tracking checklists to ensure loan closings are managed within guidelines. Manages data entry, updates, and follow-up in all loan tracking systems, including post-close documentation collection.
  8. Creates, maintains, and distributes status reports to management.
  9. Manages the closing process to ensure a smooth and positive experience for clients. Participates in focus groups and suggests process improvements to streamline operations while ensuring quality and compliance. Protects the SBA Guaranty or take-out participation.
  10. Coordinates information flow with banks, legal counsel, and other involved parties, developing strong working relationships during documentation, approval, and closing phases.
  11. Accounts for all fees and charges within each loan file to prevent loss or missed reimbursements. Prepares and processes funding requests, maintaining accurate records and reconciliation.
  12. Reports inconsistencies, validates information during due diligence, and maintains high ethical standards throughout the process.
  13. Provides leadership and mentorship to other loan administrators.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent training and experience.
  • 7 years of experience in loan documentation or SBA loan processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of SBA loan packaging, application, and documentation (express, 7a, and 504 loan programs).
  • Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Exceptional computer, internet, and software skills.
  • Strong client service skills.
Additional Information

Salary Range: $74,363 - $127,786 annually. Compensation varies based on experience, qualifications, and location. We encourage qualified candidates to apply and discuss their interest during the process.
