We instill an environment where employees feel engaged, satisfied and able to contribute their unique skills and talents while living and working as their authentic selves. We provide extensive opportunities for personal and professional development, building both employee competence and organizational capability to fuel exceptional performance through an inclusive environment both now and in the future.

SUMMARY

The Vice President, Regional Leader (VPRL) is accountable for driving sustained client value, profitable growth, and market leadership through the delivery and optimization of Vizient’s spend management solutions. This role serves as a trusted executive advisor to health system leadership and C-suite executives, translating complex analytics and supply chain insights into compelling narratives that drive action, adoption, and measurable outcomes. The VP, Regional Leader (VPRL) leads and develops high-performing account management teams, owns client P&L performance, and ensures alignment of Vizient’s spend management capabilities across clinical, purchased services, and indirect spend categories. Success in this role requires deep healthcare supply chain expertise, strong business judgment, executive presence, and the ability to influence, negotiate, and coach at the highest levels.

Coaching, Talent Development & Team Leadership

Lead, coach, and develop Account Management teams and cross-functional resources, establishing clear performance expectations, driving accountability for results and leadership behaviors, strengthening the talent pipeline through deliberate coaching and succession planning, and ensuring teams consistently articulate, deliver, and optimize Vizient’s full spend management portfolio.

Strategic Leadership & Client Value

Serve as a strategic advisor to client executive leadership, including supply chain, finance, and C-suite stakeholders, driving strategy that increases client engagement, value realization, retention, and long-term profitability, ensuring Vizient spend management solutions are aligned to documented client priorities, strategic goals, and financial objectives, and identifying opportunities to expand services, elevate client supply chain influence, and deliver measurable clinical and financial impact.

Financial & Business Accountability

Lead and manage client P&L performance, including revenue growth, margin, and cost discipline, executing disciplined business plans that deliver enterprise growth while applying strong financial and business acumen to prioritize investments, negotiate outcomes, and maximize return for clients and Vizient.

Executive Presence, Influence & Negotiation

Represent Vizient with credibility and authority at the executive level, influencing complex stakeholder groups through expertise, judgment, and trusted leadership, leading high-stakes negotiations related to spend management programs and service expansions, and navigating ambiguity and resistance with confidence and an outcomes-focused approach.

Analytics, Insights & Storytelling

Translate complex spend, utilization, and performance analytics into clear, compelling executive-level narratives that influence decision-making, enabling teams to use data to diagnose issues, quantify opportunities, and demonstrate realized value across clinical, purchased services, and indirect spend, and consistently raising the executive relevance of client-facing insights and presentations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with Enterprise Account Management, the SMBU Performance Partners, category experts, and business leaders, acting as a voice of the client by synthesizing feedback into actionable insights for product, service, and program development, and supporting onboarding of new clients to ensure early value realization and long-term engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience desired, MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10 or more years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare supply chain and spend management, including direct experience within provider organizations and/or leading complex provider-based supply chain functions, and/or demonstrated success leading complex healthcare supply chain engagements across multiple workstreams that identified quantifiable, validated, implementable financial improvement opportunities for health system clients.
  • Demonstrated success leading large, geographically dispersed high-performing teams with P&L accountability, delivering measurable financial, operational, and performance outcomes.
  • Proven experience working with executive and C-suite leaders in complex health systems, influencing decision-making, and navigating executive dynamics with credibility and confidence.
  • Documented track record of results, evidenced by clear, quantifiable outcomes (e.g., cost improvement, performance gains, growth, or transformation), not generalized responsibilities.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare supply chain operations and how sourcing and spend strategies translate into operational, clinical, and financial outcomes within provider environments.
  • Coaching & Talent Development: Strong track record of developing leaders and building high-performing teams through clear expectations, accountability, feedback, and succession planning.
  • Financial & Business Acumen: Strong understanding of P&L management, healthcare economics, and value-based decision-making, with the ability to prioritize investments and maximize return.
  • Executive Presence & Influence: Proven ability to influence senior leaders through credibility, sound judgment, and trusted advisory leadership in complex stakeholder environments.
  • Negotiation: Skilled in complex, high-value negotiations, balancing client value and business outcomes while building long-term partnerships.
  • Analytics & Storytelling: Ability to listen deeply to provider needs, synthesize complex quantitative and qualitative inputs, and translate data into clear, persuasive executive-level narratives that drive action and adoption.
