Job summary

Groundwork Collaborative seeks a Vice President of Media Engagement to lead the organization’s press and earned media operation and expand the reach of its economic narrative work. This senior role will build strategy, relationships, systems, and a team to ensure Groundwork’s research and campaigns break through in a dynamic media landscape.

Reporting to the SVP of Communications, you will manage the press team and steer the Economic Speakers Bureau, shaping major campaigns and rapid response.

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years in advocacy or nonprofit external communications.
• Proven track record of national press coverage.
• Experience building teams and operations in fast-paced environments.
• Deep relationships across national media.
• Strong writing and editing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Groundwork’s press and earned media strategy.
• Direct a press team of 2–4 staff and provide leadership.
• Oversee the Economic Speakers Bureau and integrate it into campaigns.
• Advise the SVP of Communications and leadership on media opportunities and risks.
• Develop integrated campaigns across press, digital and other channels.
