Job summary

Vanguard Charitable Endowment Program is seeking a strategic Head of New Ventures to identify and validate opportunities for future growth. You will lead discovery of donor and partner needs, build a disciplined experimentation engine, and shape a portfolio of new ventures with clear funding and transition plans.

The role requires deep knowledge of philanthropy, wealth management, and tech-enabled innovation. You will report to senior leadership and travel as business needs require.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of customer discovery, jobs-to-be-done, behavioral research, insight methods, and portfolio management.
• Understanding of philanthropy, wealth management, fintech, technology, and consumer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Build an ongoing discovery capability engaging donors, advisors, nonprofits, and partners.
• Scan adjacent industries for shifts and generate differentiated growth theses.
• Operate the enterprise experimentation engine with gates, budgets, and learning deliverables.
• Develop and manage a portfolio of growth hypotheses across revenue and models.
• Design experiments, build prototypes, and assemble cross-functional teams to test high-risk ideas.
• Manage a growth portfolio with budgets, milestones, and investment decisions.
• Incubate concepts and plan for launch or scale with owners and funding.
• Participate in leadership discussions shaping enterprise priorities and talent.
