Job summary

United Migrant Opportunity Services (UMOS) seeks a Vice President of Information Technology to lead the organization’s technology strategy, security, and operations across multiple states, ensuring alignment with UMOS's mission and priorities. The role requires 10+ years in IT, 5+ years in senior leadership, and strong governance, procurement, and risk management.

Travel and occasional non-standard hours are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• Ten (10) or more years of IT experience, including at least five (5) years in a senior leadership or director-level role; and at least five (5) years managing a large-scale IT operation.
• Demonstrated experience overseeing complex IT environments, including enterprise systems and managed services.
• Knowledge of business process analysis, procurement, project management and vendor management.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills for executive leadership and staff.
• Ability to lead multi-state teams and develop practical solutions to complex challenges.
• Ability to travel as required and work occasional evenings, weekends, or irregular hours.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance.
• Ability to pass state and federal background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and administration of UMOS' IT function, including staff, operations, budgets, resources, and investments.
• Develop and execute the organization's technology strategy and policies.
• Direct design, implementation, maintenance, security, and performance of the technology environment, including cloud/on-premises systems and cybersecurity tools.
• Plan and oversee data organization, storage, protection, and sharing across databases and applications.
• Develop and enforce IT policies, standards, and governance for confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
• Oversee procurement and lifecycle management of hardware, software, and vendor contracts.
• Collaborate with executives on planning, policy development, and technology initiatives.
• Provide executive leadership for organization-wide technology strategy and risk management.
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements; monitor and report risks.
• Deliver timely IT support to staff and promote customer service excellence.
• Lead long-range technology planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Represent UMOS in external relations and funding presentations.
• Participate in meetings and other duties to support organizational operations.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field

Masters degree preferred
