Job summary

Synchrony is seeking a Cyber Intelligence Leader to direct CTI, Detection Engineering, and Cyber Hunt programs. The role translates external and internal threat signals into actionable intelligence, proactive hunts, and detection improvements across the enterprise.

The candidate will define intelligence requirements, produce executive reports, and drive validation through MITRE ATT&CK-aligned hunts. A strong leadership background and experience with SIEM/EDR are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
• 8–12+ years of cybersecurity experience in threat intelligence, threat hunting, detection engineering or IR.
• 3+ years leading teams or enterprise programs with measurable outcomes.
• Experience building and operationalizing detections in SIEM/EDR and partnering with SOC/IR.
• Strong knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and applying it to detections.

Responsibilities

• Define intelligence requirements and collection plans for financial services threats.
• Produce strategic, operational, and tactical intelligence and reports.
• Translate intelligence into detection content, hunt hypotheses, and response playbooks.
• Lead intelligence lifecycle from collection to dissemination and feedback.
• Lead hypothesis-driven hunts mapped to MITRE ATT&CK and validate with telemetry.
• Coordinate hunts across endpoints, network, cloud, identity, and edge/WAF.
• Escalate suspicious activity to Incident Response and support containment/remediation.
