Overview

We are seeking a visionary Interim Vice President of Data and AI to lead our global data and artificial intelligence strategy. This executive will shape AI-powered innovation, drive product development, and leverage our data ecosystem to create intelligent, automated experiences for customers. The VP will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and go-to-market leaders to deliver scalable, enterprise-grade AI solutions that differentiate our offerings in the market.

Base pay range

$145.00/hr - $175.00/hr

Position title: Interim Vice President, Data and AI

Location: Waltham, MA (Hybrid/Flexible)

Reports to: Chief Transformation Officer

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the organization's Data and AI strategy, aligned with overall business goals.
• Lead global teams of data scientists, AI/ML engineers, and platform architects.
• Champion responsible and ethical AI practices across the enterprise.
• Drive the integration of advanced AI/ML models into core platforms and services.
• Partner with product management to identify and deliver AI-driven features that enhance user experience and business outcomes.
• Oversee the design and evolution of the organization's data architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
• Ensure effective data governance, privacy, and compliance across all regions and business units.
• Work with technology and product leaders to embed AI into all layers of the platform and services.
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to communicate AI differentiation to clients and stakeholders.
• Represent the organization externally at conferences, analyst briefings, and customer events as a thought leader in AI/ML.
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies and bring innovative solutions into the strategic roadmap.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in data, analytics, and AI/ML leadership roles, with at least 7 years at the executive level.
• Proven success building and scaling AI-driven platforms or products in SaaS, cloud, or enterprise software environments.
• Strong expertise in machine learning, generative AI, large-scale data platforms, and applied AI in enterprise use cases.
• Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, observability, and security is a strong plus.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic influencing skills.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field preferred.
