Job summary

Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence (BBBSI) seeks a Vice President of Advancement to lead fundraising strategy and donor development, reporting to the CEO. This leader will cultivate major gifts, oversee campaigns, and drive sustainable revenue to support BBBSI’s mission.

The role requires emotional intelligence, strong people-management skills, and proven success in nonprofit fund development. You will collaborate with the board and staff to advance equity, inclusion, and community impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum of 10 years fundraising experience.
• Proven leadership, project-management, and people-management skills.
• Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal, intercultural, and written communication skills.
• Experience with CRM systems; Salesforce experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction for BBBSI’s fundraising and resource development.
• Oversee annual fund, major gifts, foundation and corporate giving, and donor engagement.
• Manage donor portfolio and moves-management to secure revenue.
• Lead events, marketing, and communications related to fundraising campaigns.
• Ensure data integrity and ethical standards in fundraising activities.
• Represent BBBSI to donors, prospects, and external stakeholders.
