LPL Financial is seeking a VP, Software Engineering Manager to lead the Kong Platform and OneELK, driving API modernization and migration at enterprise scale. You will guide platform engineering teams focused on API gateway services, security, and developer enablement, while aligning with Architecture, Product, and Security.

The role emphasizes leadership, strategy, and execution to enable digital transformation and scalable, secure APIs across the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
10+ years technology leadership experience, including large engineering or platform teams.
5+ years leading API management or integration platform programs at enterprise scale.
3+ years with Kong Gateway/Enterprise or comparable platforms.
5+ years driving modernization and migration programs.

Responsibilities

Own the Kong API Gateway platform strategy, roadmap, adoption, and operations.
Lead teams for Kong Gateway, API management, developer portals, security, and platform services.
Drive API modernization, migration, and governance across the enterprise.
Establish platform SLOs, metrics, and governance; ensure security and compliance.
Partner with Architecture, Security, and Product to align roadmaps and investments.
Provide executive reporting on platform health and migration progress.
