Job summary

Our client in Austin is seeking a Vice President of Investments to join its core investment team. The role offers broad exposure across private credit, structured equity, and private equity, with direct involvement in origination, underwriting, and portfolio oversight.

The VP will run significant workstreams independently, prepare investment committee materials, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with senior professionals on strategy and value creation throughout the investment

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in private equity, private credit, special situations, or another alternative investment strategy.
• Strong financial modeling skills across credit and equity analysis, with the ability to move fluidly between deal types and structures.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously under tight timelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work directly with management teams, legal counsel, and other stakeholders.
• Willingness to be based in Austin, Texas. Relocation support is available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial modeling and valuation analysis across private credit, structured equity, and private equity transactions, including scenario, recovery, and returns analysis as relevant to each strategy.
• Drive due diligence workstreams, coordinating with legal counsel, financial advisors, and management teams across a range of deal types and timelines.
• Support deal structuring and negotiation, including terms, covenant packages, and downside protection mechanics appropriate to each investment.
• Help originate and evaluate new investment opportunities through direct outreach, intermediary relationships, and existing portfolio company networks.
• Monitor portfolio company and investment performance post-close, including board-level reporting, covenant compliance, and ongoing strategic support.
• Prepare investment committee materials and present findings and recommendations to senior decision makers.
• Mentor and manage junior team members on deal execution.
