A leading global financial services organization is seeking an experienced Vice President – Internal Audit to join its Internal Audit team. This individual will lead complex, risk-based audit engagements across key financial services products, operations, and technology-enabled business processes.
The role will have significant exposure to businesses supporting payment products, transaction processing, merchant services, and digital financial solutions. The Vice President will work closely with senior business and audit leaders to evaluate risk management practices, internal controls, regulatory requirements, and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute complex audits across financial services products, operational processes, and technology-enabled business activities.
- Evaluate governance, risk management practices, and internal controls across transaction-processing environments.
- Assess operational, regulatory, technology, fraud, and third-party risks associated with financial products and services.
- Review processes supporting transaction processing, settlement, reconciliation, exception management, and related operations.
- Evaluate risks associated with new products, digital capabilities, emerging technologies, and business transformation initiatives.
- Assess relationships with third-party processors, technology providers, fintech partners, and other external service providers.
- Identify control weaknesses and emerging risks and communicate findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Lead complex audit engagements from planning through completion while ensuring work is performed in accordance with internal audit standards.
- Partner with business leaders and other control functions to provide insight into key risks and opportunities for control enhancement.
- Mentor and develop junior audit professionals and contribute to the continued development of the broader audit strategy.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Internal Audit, Risk Management, Compliance, or a related financial services function.
- Meaningful professional experience within the payments industry is required, including experience with payment products, transaction processing, merchant services, payment operations, or related financial technology.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end transaction lifecycle and associated operational and control risks.
- Experience within a financial institution, payment company, processor, merchant services organization, fintech, or similarly complex financial services environment.
- Knowledge of transaction processing, settlement, reconciliation, and associated controls.
- Experience assessing operational, regulatory, technology, and third-party risks within a complex financial services environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex audit engagements and interacting with senior management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, CISA, or a comparable designation preferred.
