Job Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and directs all aspects of the Human Resources function of the hospital, including HR strategies, operations, employee/labor relations, compensation and benefits, management and staff education, regulatory compliance, union contract management, recruitment, retention, employee health, workers' compensation, HRIS, and policy interpretation. Acts as a senior management team member, partnering with senior management to achieve the hospital’s mission and goals, and supports corporate initiatives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Develops HR programs, strategies, and implementation methods, including recruitment, retention, orientation, and training.
  2. Establishes departmental goals, policies, and procedures.
  3. Recruits, trains, evaluates, and manages department staff.
  4. Prepares and manages departmental budgets within financial limits.
  5. Prepares reports for senior management.
  6. Ensures compliance with hospital policies and Joint Commission standards.
  7. Interprets policies to staff and manages employee relations.
  8. Negotiates union contracts.
  9. Conducts surveys on turnover, wages, benefits, and morale.
  10. Investigates disputes and grievances, recommending corrective actions.
  11. Maintains personnel records securely and accurately.
  12. Administers employee benefits and programs, and implements performance evaluations.
  13. Participates in professional development activities.
  14. Attends hospital meetings and performs additional duties as assigned.
