Job summary

Amentum is seeking an experienced Government Contracts Attorney to join our Legal Department. The Vice President, Business Group Lead Counsel will head advisory services for our Engineering & Technology business, directing the work of other attorneys.

This hybrid role, based in Reston, VA, requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Key responsibilities include advising on FAR/DFARS issues, evaluating bids, and coordinating with contracts, finance and program teams

Qualifications

• Typically 10+ years of government contracts law experience, preferably in defense/aerospace.
• Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance up to Top Secret.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on U.S. federal government contracts (FAR/DFARS) and related regulations.
• Oversee negotiations of teaming agreements, NDAs, subcontracts, and related agreements.
• Assist in audits, investigations, and inquiries by government agencies (DCAA/DCMA/OIG).
• Collaborate with contracts, finance, procurement, and program teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
