Job summary

The Goldman Sachs Group in New York, NY is seeking a Vice President of Systems Engineering to apply expertise across datacenter design, networks, storage, grid compute, operating systems, databases, and software languages. Qualifications

• Master's degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science/Engineering/Information Systems/Technology or related field with 3 years experience OR Bachelor's degree with 5 years experience in similar role.
• Experience with performance tuning, troubleshooting, and log analysis; SDLC across requirements, design, coding, testing, release and support.
• Proficiency in SQL performance tuning and disaster recovery planning; experience with Windows enterprise systems management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design and build-out of firm’s computer and data infrastructure, including internal hardware and cloud-based solutions for on-demand scaling.
• Lead automated testing processes, standards, solutions and tools to ensure stable operations.
• Apply ML/data mining techniques to identify and react to infrastructure issues and trends.
• Manage production incidents and coordinate with users, owners, vendors and stakeholders.
• Drive risk and cost management in production environments and change processes.
