VP - Financial Controller – Metals Industry

Redstone Commodity Search is working with a global metals trading and processing firm seeking to hire a skilled Financial Controller to lead financial management and reporting at their Illinois operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition for metals trading and processing activities.
• Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with US GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports to support strategic decision-making.
• Partner closely with commercial, operations, and senior leadership teams to drive budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and performance analysis.
• Lead and mentor the finance team to ensure accurate reporting, continuous improvement, and high standards of financial integrity.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (mandatory).
• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, ideally within metals, commodities, or industrial manufacturing sectors.
• Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, tax compliance, and regulatory frameworks relevant to metals trading and processing.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools; experience implementing or optimizing accounting systems is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills, leadership capability, and ability to communicate effectively across commercial and operational teams.
